Outlining fonts ensures that your text appears exactly as intended, even if the font isn’t installed on our system. Follow these steps to outline your fonts in your design files:

Adobe Illustrator:

  1. Open Your File: Launch Adobe Illustrator and open your design file.
  2. Select the Text: Use the Selection Tool (V) to click on the text you want to outline.
  3. Create Outlines: Go to Type in the top menu and select Create Outlines (or press Shift + Ctrl/Cmd + O). This converts the text into vector shapes.
  4. Save Your File: Save your file in a format like .ai, .eps, or .pdf. Go to File > Save As, choose your desired format, and click Save.

Adobe InDesign:

  1. Open Your Document: Launch Adobe InDesign and open your document.
  2. Select the Text: Use the Selection Tool (V) or the Type Tool (T) to highlight the text you want to outline.
  3. Create Outlines: Go to Type in the top menu and select Create Outlines (or press Shift + Ctrl/Cmd + O). This converts the text into vector shapes.
  4. Export Your File: Save your file in a format like .pdf. Go to File > Export, select Adobe PDF (Print) as the format, and click Save.

CorelDRAW:

  1. Open Your Design: Start CorelDRAW and open your design file.
  2. Select the Text: Use the Pick Tool to select the text you wish to outline.
  3. Convert to Curves: Go to Arrange in the top menu and choose Convert to Curves (or press Ctrl + Q). This changes the text into vector shapes.
  4. Save Your File: Save your file in a format like .cdr, .eps, or .pdf. Go to File > Save As, select the desired format, and click Save.

Affinity Designer:

  1. Open Your File: Launch Affinity Designer and open your file.
  2. Select the Text: Use the Move Tool to select the text you want to outline.
  3. Convert to Curves: Go to Layer in the top menu and select Convert to Curves. This will convert the text into vector shapes.
  4. Export Your File: Save your file in a format like .pdf or .eps. Go to File > Export, choose the desired format, and click Export.

Tips:

  • Double-check Your Work: After outlining, make sure the text appears correctly and adjust any spacing or alignment as needed.
  • Save a Copy: Keep a copy of your original file with editable text in case you need to make changes later.
